This lively event, attended by senior leaders in local government, focused on issues such as; what sort of evidence do local authorities need to make changes at the local level? What sort of evidence do we need to take forward the right innovations? And how best can evidence be delivered and disseminated to those who need it both locally and nationally?

The Alliance followed up with a joint session at the annual conference of SOLACE, the umbrella body for leaders of local authorities. SOLACE produced a 'call to action' that included a commitment for chief executives to promote a culture that values evidence.
