What is evidence, and why does it matter for your organisation?
High quality evidence - from research and evaluation studies, to expert knowledge, to stakeholder consultations - can be used to help your charity in many ways, from growing your organisation, to unlocking funding, to political campaigning. But how do you make use of evidence that's already out there? How do you interpret the findings and apply those to decisions you make about your work? How do you produce your own evidence in a way that's useful without breaking the bank or needing an in-house research team? In this interactive webinar Emma Taylor-Collins, Senior Research Officer at the Alliance for Useful Evidence and Wales Centre for Public Policy, will explore these questions and talk about what evidence can do for you.
By the end of the webinar participants will:
- Have learnt about Alliance for Useful Evidence and Wales Centre for Public Policy and the free resources they have to offer.
- Know where to go for good evidence.
- Have heard from others in the sector about the way they use evidence, and the challenges they face.
Who the webinar is for
Staff from third sector organisations who would like to learn more about evidence and how it can help them. You don't need to have any background in research or evidence, just an interest in how you can use it in your work.
This webinar is organised by Wales Council for Voluntary Action, but open to all (WCVA members and non members).
Wednesday 5th of December 2018 2:00pm - 3:00pm
