For the Alliance for Useful Evidence, an evidence champion is someone who can directly promote the effective use of evidence in policy-making or practice. Evidence from behavioural insights highlights the importance of the 'messenger' and role of social networks in any process designed to change attitudes and behaviours. We believe such changes do not just depend on the persuasiveness of the message per se - staff are more likely to listen to peers that they can relate to in their networks. It is because of this that we are developing a network of Evidence Champions, to support those advocates that are already making the case for the effective use of evidence in their work and help them have more impact.

We will support the evidence champions in their quest to show-case evidence and change hearts and minds around using it. On the 28th November we want to hear from people interested in becoming champions about what we can do to support them in this challenge alongside a peer network of evidence champions who can share successes and challenges.

The day will be an interactive and immersive workshop providing you plenty of opportunities to share, connect and learn.

It is an invitation only event, but if you are interested or might like to become an Evidence Champion, please do contact us: pippa.coutts@nesta.org.uk
