Anna Hopkins

Anna joined the team as a Researcher in February 2018 until January 2020. Her role involved conducting research and writing reports and case-studies to champion the use of evidence in social policy and practice, working with Alliance colleagues to influence politicians, civil servants, charity leaders, front-line professionals and citizen groups. She also coordinated a programme of strategic partnerships and evidence champions.

Anna joined the Alliance from the University of London, where she coordinated an interdisciplinary programme on the future of research on the mind. Her work included a research consultation process funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, leading a public consultation and co-designing a series of experiments in collective decision-making. Anna has a background in higher education and experience in collaborative research, facilitation, public engagement and fostering multi-disciplinary work and relationships.

Anna has an MA in Social Research from the University of Warwick. She is interested in methodology and relationships across research, policy and practice. In particular, she is interested in exploring rigorous methodologies in co-production and uses for evidence-informed decision-making.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys hosting, reading and rock climbing. At weekends, she can usually be found climbing in the British countryside – or hiking and waiting for the rain to stop.
