Promoting experimentation in government – learning from Canada’s experience

In the lead up to the Innovation Growth Lab's annual conference in June, Nesta's Giulio Quaggiotto and Shatha Alhashmi at the UAE Prime Ministers Office are keen to shine a light on Canada's commitment to experimental government. Alliance for Useful Evidence and Results for All release new report; Evidence Works 2016: A Global Forum for Government

A collaboration between the Alliance for Useful Evidence and Results for All, an initiative of Results for America has produced a new report that shares interesting ideas and potential solutions from national governments across the globe to promoting the use of evidence and data in policymaking. This follows on from our highly successful Evidence Works 2016: A Global Forum for Government event in September 2016.

In this guest blog, Alice Casey from the Innovation Lab at Nesta, explores that in the grant-making world huge volume of information remain locked away in a closed, two-way relationship between funder and applicant instead of creating wider benefit by being shared more widely and argues for an open dashboard of public resources to aggregate data across the sector.
