Standardising Standards: The Case for Shared Standards in the Evidence Sector

In her report Mapping the Standards of Evidence used in UK social policy Ruth Puttick welcomes the growing interest in frameworks that support evidence use, but points to the potential for confusion and duplication which arises from the proliferation of evidence standards.

In this paper Jim Vine (Research Fellow, University of Essex) puts forward a solution.  A suite of co-produced standards serving different purposes would 'standardise the standards' without having to trade-off the features that make the various existing standards so useful.
