Evidence Masterclass with Cardiff Council
Wednesday 23rd of November 2016 Cardiff Council 10:00am - 4:00pm
The Evidence Masterclass is for leaders and practitioners in policy teams who want a better practical understanding of how to use evidence to inform robust policy making in local government. The focus will be on learning from research evidence that is already available from universities, independent research organisations, market researchers, and umbrella organisations. We will also consider how to scrutinise and weigh up the strengths and weaknesses of different types of evidence.
The masterclass will illustrate how local authorities can incorporate a variety of types of evidence more effectively, even with limited time and resources. We’ll show how becoming a ‘knowledge-based organisation’ can directly impact on local authority performance. Better use of evidence will help you evaluate interventions, commission or redesign programmes and services and develop effective communications.
This session is for Cardiff Council staff who have booked a place through Cardiff Council.
- Dr Tony Munton, Alliance Associate and Director of the RTK Ltd
- Helen Cunningham, Alliance for Useful Evidence
