This Evidence Masterclass was for leaders and practitioners in policy teams who want a better practical understanding of how to use evidence to inform robust policy making in local government.
The focus was on learning from research evidence that is already available from universities, independent research organisations, market researchers, and umbrella organisations. We also considered how to scrutinise and weigh up the strengths and weaknesses of different types of evidence.
The masterclass illustrated how local authorities can incorporate a variety of types of evidence more effectively, even with limited time and resources. We showed how becoming a ‘knowledge-based organisation’ can directly impact on local authority performance, and how better use of evidence will help you evaluate interventions, commission or redesign programmes and services and develop effective communications.
This session was for Cardiff Council staff who have booked a place through Cardiff Council.
